PEOPLES JUSTICE COALITION Response to new witness!It is outrageous and insulting that at this final hour, when a Queens Grand Jury is about to decided whether to indict the police officers who killed Sean Bell and attempted to kill his two friends, that the Detective Endowment Association and the Queens District Attorney would work in cahoots to destroy any possibility of the Bell family obtaining any kind of justice. This so-called “Spanish-speaking” witness they have produced to once again spin the tale of the elusive “black man with a gun” clearly conveys the message that the NYPD is doing everything it can to justify an unjustifiable shooting so they can release these NYPD perpetrators from any responsibility in this murder and attempted murders. It has already been proven that neither Sean Bell nor his friends had any guns on them or in their car. It has further been proven that all the shots fired that night came from NYPD guns. In the interest of justice for the Bell family, Trent Benefield and Joseph Guzman, we call on the Justice Department to take over this investigation and the prosecution of this case. The Queens District Attorney, the Detectives Endowment Association and the NYPD have already proven, once again, that they can’t be trusted.
