“The Institute” Youth Leadership Program
Our newest program was started in 2004 as a project to engage local youth to develop their critical thinking skills and to serve as a gateway into organizing work. The program began with a six-week series of workshops at the St. Johns Recreational Center in Crown Heights Brooklyn, New York. It is now the basis for afterschool programing at two local NYC schools. In addition we have conducted political education classes, Know Your Rights Workshops, shown documentaries and movies.
