![]() Brooklyn Juneteenth Block Party Celebration Inhonor of Juneteenth, the holiday that commemorates the announcement of
African-Americanfreedom from enslavement, Malcolm X Grassroots Movement and
Sankofa CommunityEmpowerment are throwing a Juneteenth Block Party! This
event will be acelebration of our people, culture, and community. TheJuneteenth Block Party will be taking place on Sunday June 21st
beginning at12pm on Macdonough Street between Lewis Avenue and Marcus
Garvey Blvd. Thiswill be a day of musical and artistic performances, family
entertainment, andspeakers that will discuss the importance of this
historic day for people ofAfrican Descent. We areasking the community to advertise this event far and wide in their
publications,websites, listservs and blogs. We arecurrently seeking all vendors and female artists to perform. Vendor's

The organization engages in work that addresses a range ofissues such as police brutality, political prisoners, our youth, women's rightsand access to housing. |
